The immigration system mirrors the economy, now we know it. H1B visas (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) are still available with more than 15,000 are up for grabs. The numbers are pretty much unchanged since late May.
As of August 14, 2009, approximately 45,000 H-1B cap-subject petitions and approximately 20,000 petitions qualifying for the advanced degree cap exemption had been filed. USCIS will continue to accept both cap-subject petitions and advanced degree petitions until a sufficient number of H-1B petitions (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) have been received to reach the statutory limits, taking into account the fact that some of these petitions may be denied, revoked, or withdrawn. We will keep you posted with any changes in this area.

Hi all!
I'm currently working on a personal project of mine (word processor) and there are a few things i cannot seem to get my head around and i think that they are very simple to do too...Maybe... First, I'm trying to open a new instance of my program by simply clicking a menu option on my form. i'm using visual c# 08 express edition, windows forms application... I have attached an image (very small image) to show u what i mean.. i'd appreciate anyone's help/advice on this, thanks for reading :-)

Interesting article....but no direct talk of H1-B or skilled worker immigration reforms etc.
The author of this article is Chris Isidore...I tried looking at the CNN site if there was a way of reaching him by email...but couldn't find any..
If we could get to him, maybe he would be willing to write a part 2 to this article highlighting the broken skilled worker immigration system..

Hi,
My current H1 is valid till Feb 15 2010. My lawyer filed for H1 extension in Aug 2009, almost 6 months before the visa expiration date.
After 3 months my lawyer filed an enquiry with the CIS and CIS responded back saying they had sent an RFE on Dec 16th 2009 to my employer. However, my employer hasn't received any mail from CIS. Then my lawyer requested the CIS to send another copy of the RFE on Dec 30th 2009.
However, till date nothing has been received in the mail. Is there any way I can get to know what RFE has been issued by CIS?
It has been 6 months since filing my extension at CIS CSC and uptil now there is no news. Can CIS get any worse when it comes to H1 extensions..I don't think so.

I will not suggest you to do anything in DR. They are not really very organized and it take time even to get a DR visa but that just my personal opinion. Consult your lawyer..
