As I mentioned, "many" and not "all", I stand by my statement. Those paying taxes ( using fake SSNs) are in high-paying jobs like construction. How many of those waiting eagerly waiting for a job outside HomeDepot, you think, pay roll taxes? Not to mention low-paying jobs like fruit-pickers, cash workers in restaurants etc.
In a nutshell - there are those who do pay taxes. There are also a good number of those who don't

I can see sammyb's frustration but there is something to be said for collective intelligence and opnion. If we start restricting access to the site we loose out on the "Wisdom of the Crowds". A good example is free file sharing websites that have very few people contributing (<10%) but the benefit to the community is huge and the membership becomes ever larger because it is free. So as IV becomes more popular (which should be are foremost goal) there will be more people willing to contribute (even though the percentage of people contributing might still be small). I am not making a case for free loaders, instead I am making a case for free access to information.
I salute Needhelp! for her commitment to this cause.
Good thinking!
I am wondering how would IV generate the funds needed to do lobbying if everyone here is for a free-for-all ride. :)
I suggest if anyone is looking for up to date, real time forum to get Q&A. :)

indianabacklog, did you make your video and upload on you tube? you know about 2 action items posted by core right? you people are the right one who should stand first in the line to show our problems. I really appreciate if make a video along with your family.
Nice idea but does anyone honestly think the DOL cares. I am somewhat fortunate that my 2002 labor finally got approved in the middle of 2006. My son is not so lucky since he turned 21 while I was waiting. When my senators office took the matter of my son aging out up with the DOL I was told to put him on an F1 visa and send him to college so he can REMAIN (he wants to LIVE here, big difference) in the United States. These people do NOT care what they are doing to your lives. They do not care that my son has NO path to permanent residency any more and that I have to write the enormous check for his tuition twice each year so that I can still have him in the same country as me and his father. I feel awful for anyone still waiting for their labor certification but at least you will eventually get in line for your green card and will get ahead of those filing now with much later priority dates. You are indeed victims but I just wanted to point out that there are thousands of young adult children who have had their hopes for getting a green card totally shattered by this backlog center fiasco.

I-797 notice always has date range for its validity.
Employer 2
MAR-2005 to MAR-2008
Employer X
JUL2006 to JUL-2009
Applied 485 in JUL-2007
Applied EAD in JUL-2007 along with 485. Valid from 09-2007 to 09-2008
Applied another EAD in 2008 before 1st EAD expires, which is good until 2010

We should try something like applying for 485 without priority date but even the cantwell cornyn amendment does not have this provision
We should lobby for only this thing at this time ..
This will resolve most of our problems...
This is not about adding new numbers and should not be opposed.

I am seriously considering this option. I have over 6 years experience as Manager in two large Indian IT companies (part of which is in L1A visa). However, I have detailed experience letter for about 2.5 years. The other company (through which I came on L1A earlier) does not give detailed experience letter per their policy. They gave a summary letter with start date-end date, designation and basic salary. I can get maximum point with 4 years experience.
Does anyone know if Canadian Immigration accept secondary evidence like coworkers letter and/or my job description as mentioned in the L1 petition by that company.
Also, does anyone know how much prep is required for IELTS ?

We need to do something for sure. I know that most of EB3 folks are stuck for GC more than 7-8 years. I don't see any good progress for EB3 in the future.
I would request from everyone to wake up and take a proactive step. I am ready to give any kind of support.

If your statement has been endorsed by the core that they want a million number then forget about this effort.I am feeling sad that i was part of this effort.I am not going to be part anymore unless i see some direct addressals from core to do it hence forth.I wish your million signature drive doesnt drive away many more like me.
Come on dear friend. If core does not endorse something - they will let the members know. IV is just not core or chapter leaders, IV is everyone. Everyone can take responsibility and do something. Core just manages and chapter leaders just help implement stuff, IVs strength is its members.
Now different members come from different places, different backgrounds, different perspectives, so there could be a change in the general approach. Working towards a cause must never turn you down.

4) Money is not a problem for them. Many of them are paid off the books and have never paid Income Tax, SS Tax etc. There are also very strong political organizations, PACs (Political Action Committees) supporting. There are many USCs/LPRs contributing to election campaigns on their behalf.
- We pay all taxes. There is no PAC supporting the cause of EB immigrants exclusively ( ImmigrantsList is a PAC that supports all immigration including "undocumented").

Peter Goss, Social Security’s Chief Actuary, has estimated that three quarters of undocumented immigrants pay payroll taxes. This generates $6 to $7 billion per year in Social Security tax revenue and $1.5 billion in Medicare taxes.
According to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, undocumented noncitizens paid almost $50 billion in federal taxes from 1996 to 2003. Recent reports from across the country indicate that during the 2007 tax season, record numbers of undocumented people filed tax returns.
As IRS Commissioner Mark Everson, a former immigration official, stated in testimony before Congress last year, “If someone is working without authorization in this country, he or she is not absolved of tax liability.” In a more recent speech to the National Press Club, Everson added, “We want your money whether you are here legally or not and whether you earned it legally or not.”

I like the idea of fasting.
It will be very effective if we can do it in all the states. Does not require travel or much of logistics. The state chapters can use it as a campaign to recruit additional members too.

Yes, country of birth should get us close.
needhelp...maybe instead of country of chargeability we should ask for grouping by country of birth; this is an actual field required in the I-485 form.
You are right about priority date. It is not a field available in the 485 form. in the 485 form we reference the approved I-140, which is the only place where your see the "Priority Date" field.

This is a good first step in this direction after our campaign for FOIA last year. If we can get the data we need, prediction on date movement and getting the clear picture on pending applications should be easy.
I personally feel 5K is too much to charge, but if this is what it takes I think we should pursue it. Lobbying for it may have cost more. We need to get more information about this and if everyone agrees we can raise funds and pay for one request to take it forward.

Is this a serious discussion on the immigration portal about airlines.
Why don't you shut the fuck up!!@#@# and get on with your "SERIOUS DISCUSSION" about AI, Vonage,Lingo, Shahrukh Khan etc etc etc..
Serious!! yeah damn serious to be on this forum... guy like you are a shame and disgrace to the whole community where they just can't contribute but yes can definitely try to distract, deviate and derail the efforts.
You got all this bashing for the reason, I dun consider this conversation as "SERIOUS" and was trying to add up humor to lighten up the thread. But the A**H***E like you and other 2( who gave you the green on the comment) are totally stupids to understand on where to discuss what.
I am proud donor of IV, if that makes you feel ashamed when you look at the mirror, then I can't help you.
You should show some decency in replying to posts. Otherwise it reflects where you come from.
By donating few dollars, you are not entitled to write anything on any forum. If you think that a thread is not for you, you should not post there.
If you are a proud donor, good for you. :)
But why dont you start a local chapter and do some field work instead of just writing a check and claiming yourself to be a superior guy to others.

is it mean Canadian door's are closed for people who employed in IT field and do non-managerial job?
Is there any other alternative option to apply Canadian PR after exclusion of occupation category from federal and province Skilled worker category?
I don't want to conclude that doors are closed. Always one can find a way. Third eye always works better so I am pasting the links that I browsed through.
Federal skilled worker - Who can apply:
Instructions on which skilled worker applications are eligible for processing (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list)
AINP - Who can apply:
Alberta, Canada - Immigration : Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) (http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrate/ainp.html)
Alberta, Canada - Immigration : US visa holder category (http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrate/srsvisaholder.html)
http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/media/h1b_AINP_Occupations_Under_Pressure_List.pdf
In federal skilled worker link they state
"In order for your application to be eligible for processing, you must either:
- have an offer of arranged employment, OR
- be a foreign national living legally in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student, OR
- be a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the following occupations:"
As per their above statement if you have a job offer you can still apply for PR.
Hope this gives you some idea.

Dude didn't you say this to someone in your earlier post? "mind your language..." PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH!!!
BTW if you are in a public forum and your post states "screw-ups", "we need answers". please expect people to react to that. If you feel free criticizing a group that has done so much learn to take some criticism on urself. I am a paying member and I have every right to react to your asinine comments.
My question was directed to the IV core team. R u from the IV core team? IF not, shut the hell up and keep your rotten comments to yourself!
