Not sure if something is cooking at USCIS, last week an USCIS office called my attroney to get clarification on why we (my wife and I) are residing at separate addresses. We are in the process of relocation (company moved), my wife chose to continue her employment while she's searching for opportunities in the new location. The officer stated that they are trying to adjudicate the cases ASAP, hence he's inquiring to ensure there isnt any marriage fraud. My attorney responsed back will all the possible evidence to proved we are together.
Has anyone had a similar experience.

Correct me if I am wrong, ---but I thought that "This Ammendment" was attached to a defence bill. I dont think that it was the ammendment that was shot down, but the whole defence bill.

Require 3/5 majority) HR.2669 is passed by both Senate and house and sent for conference to resolve the difference between house and senate versions and president is sure to sign the bill and thus would become the law in another few days. This amendment does not have anything to do with defence bill or with SKILL bill. Following is the actions taken by congress of HR 2669.

After the july fiasco, USCIS need not have to worry about recieving huge applications if they move the dates forward. Since almost all the folks (except for folks stuck at BEC) would have turned in the applications uscis should be able to move the dates forward for FY08 to a big extent , so that visa numbers are not wasted.

Why not do a flower campaign or the like, that we did last time? Clearly that worked and the phone campaign doesnt "have the appearance" of working. I am not saying it is not working, it just isint having the same media impact as last time. It doesnt have to be the flower campaign again, heck we can do a fruit basket deal this time.
Our message should be "Please stop punishing people that came here the right way, in order to help the people that did not". We are not against undocumented workers getting amnesty, we just dont want their issues to hold up everyone else's.

yabadaba, we will always have tough opposition when we try to do something. Your op-ed was very good and some people could not swallow it. You know some people can't imagine anyone from your country having good english! All these media efforts help us raise awareness, send our message across to the masses to counter anti immigrant propaganda. Due to our press coverage lawmaker offices too have started to take us seriously. Thanks to you and other IV members that are constantly helping this organization in media efforts, whether it is as small as writing emails, getting interviewed or writing articles. All these media successes are on zero budget. All IV members are our PR agents and PR firms.Thanks.

I think the biggest lesson for you will come in through this thread itself. You may find, after all, its not that easy to motivate people to take action, much less form a coherent strategy and run with it.
My guess is in the end you will come out cursing not just the core but all IV members for them lacking or something, because they can't get on board with your idea.
The only reason IV has been able to achieve something with such a low amount of "per capita" effort is because it's an "apoltical" and "volunteer" organization. You change that to "political", and amount of effort (time and money) people will contribute will fizzle out before you can have your post election party!
My suggestion: Open a parallel organzation. Learn what it takes to get people on board with your agenda. if you DELIVER SOMETHING, people will automatically follow you.
Funds will follow if people see viability. Anywaz nothing is coming out of lobbying efforts so currently how does it even matter ?

I have read online that S-corp is better than LLC. Is that true?

Feb 07 2008 I made an infopass appointment and saw an IO he accepts my request to expedite. Finally I get a LUD saying Documents mailed to applicant on Feb 20 2008. Then on feb 21 2008 I see a soft LUD Till today I have not received the AP. Do you thinking making an infopass appointment and requesting a copy will help. I am just showing you my ignorance but what is it about.My wife works in DC right now and very active in fighting for our cause,she is a nurse.She has few correspondence with few senators and congressman but it will be great if there is a bigger force behind it all.please let me know how we can help.I too am tired of waiting in a limbo,the uncertainty is too much and by the day I get so discouraged and sometimes on the verge of giving up.
