Expatsvoice has written is own draft legislation to amend the CSPA, as it is badly written, confusing to many including attorneys and Geoff Gorsky, head of VO and does not protect all children from aging out
This legislation has been passed from Dave Weldons office to his legislators in Washington, we are awaiting to hear the outcome
Also expats voice are being interviewed for a 6 week radio program on all problems relating to US immigration. will try and update here when I get any news

Pardon my ignorance, but where does the data on the last 2 columns - the one for I-485s - come from? And does that includes Family+EB?
Good question.
Its monthly report on immigration benefits which USCIS releases. A very crappy version of the FOIA request IV is working. For November and December I have added the linked to the report. I-485s numbers listed there are indeed all types of 485s USCIS receives. i.e. it contains Family based, Asylum base, etc.
I added the column here because majority (75-85% my estimate) of the 485s are EB based.
Feel free to add more links, columns of related information.

I have seen some really well written letters from CORE before. If core can help us - we will all put in our two cents and can come up with a really good letter rather than rush in one!

Core members: Do you think mass mailing will get any attention. And do you think mass mailing everymonth to a selected group of people will work at all.

I am EB3-India with PD of August 2003. I am anticipating at least another 2 years. Any forward movement in any category is good news to me.
Yeah I am EB3 India June 2003 too. Not sure when our turn will come, IF at all the way things are crawling here. Sometimes I really feel there is no justice to some of the IV members on here. I wonder which is worse, the corruption in India or the bureaucracy in the USA. Atleast in India, if I would have bribed the official, I would have had the documents by now.

Its confusing whether EB measures will remain in Mr. Frist's bill or not, as following statement contradicts to that he will striped out only guest worker provision for illegal aliens:
Sen. Majority Leader Bill Frist plans to introduce a bill that deals solely with border security as early as today.....
Let's wait for the bill and hope EB proposals remained...
If majority leader Bill Frist bypass Judiciary committee and introduce enforcement alone bill, EB proposal will be there? It also reported that this bill have Senater Arnel Specter proposals and striped out guest worker provision for illegal aliens.
Does this means that Senater Arnel Specter's proposals on Employment base immigration remain in that bill?
If yes, We don't have to loose anything.

Yes the bulletin is pretty detailed. Explaining logic behind per country limit and movement of cutoff dates. Certainly a first in a Visa Bulletin.
Needless to say, CIR with provisions to address this backlog is the only hope for both i REITERATE - BOTH EB2 as well as EB3... divisiveness will certainly lead to failure or atleast a never ending wait for some of us....

You are right, Ramesh, sadly people have time to check for Bill updates and get their spirits down with amendment removal news but no time to get more friends to join or contribute. Please wake up people and contribute, and persuade your friends / colleagues at work you know to join IV. I got a weird response (chat) from a close friend saying she would rather donate to Myanmar/ China victim that her own Immigration cause, but I haven't given up, I will try to persuade such friends even though that raised my B.P. In the last several months, the worldwide demand for immigrant visas in the EB-2 category has been lower than the State Department expected. To make sure that all available EB-2 immigrant visas are used, DOS has, since April, made some unused worldwide numbers available for China and India and will continue to do so in July. The current Priority date based Labor application system makes the most higly skilled immigrants bonded laborers where the employers can exploit them. This especially happens to people who are highly intelligent but donot try short routes to Green card and do not think of jumbing ahead of others in the que or moving to other companies to get green card processed faster. Reality dawn sonly when nearing the six year completion date of H1B.
We need to change this unjust immigration system so that atleast in future merit gets rewarded and people who really deserve get their green card.
